See Your Shadow Songwriting closes the Summer Friday’s at the Statehouse concert series. On Friday, August 29th, See Your Shadow presented the first ever See Your Shadow Revue as it closed the inaugural season of the Summer Friday’s at the Statehouse concert series. The Revue showcased the original work See Your Shadow has created over the years with its stable of artist and composers. The event sponsored by the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, was an astounding success and the season closed with the first live performance of the empowerment anthem Yes We Can!

See Your Shadow Songwriting expands its Network of Stars to include some top notch talent and the See Your Shadow Family records the anthem Yes We Can!.

In the Spring, See Your Shadow Songwriting traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to participate in the HH Gregg Country Music Expo. This annual Expo is the largest country music expo in the Midwest. While there, See Your Shadow debuted the music video to its Country and Western/Hip Hop Hybrid “Like a Kid Again” where it received an overwhelming positive response from these die hard country and western fans.

See Your Shadow jump started with a bang by producing the very first ever Country and Western Hip Hop recording. This extraordinary, innovative recording was the brain child of Artistic Director Michael Coleman who teamed with Dustin Chura and Ahmal Henderson to bring to life this one of a kind recording. The song “Like a Kid Again” is performed by Ah-mayz Macson and was recently signed to the Los Angeles publishing house Synchronized Soundworks, Inc.

2007
See Your Shadow Songwriting’s work was showcased at the French Quarter in Nashville. The acoustic set performed by Richard Murray and Hank Lykins was received well by the industry insiders in attendance. The surprise of the evening came when the two did for the first time an acoustic version of the Murray and Coleman collaboration entitled “Uncle Roy Quit Drinkin’” The acoustic version of the fast pace up-tempo original captivated the industry insiders with its progressive and two dimensional lyrical content.

Also in 2007, See Your Shadow Songwriting’s collaborated with recording artist Rebecca Lynn.  The song entitled “Why Do All The Weirdos End Up With Me?” is the title track from Rebecca Lynn’s forthcoming album. This is the first writing collaboration between Rebecca Lynn and See Your Shadow Songwriting. The two first came together in 2005 when Rebecca Lynn provided the voice to the Murray and Coleman collaboration “Two Kiss Notice” which is still on rotation on the ISON Live Radio Network.  “Why Do All the Weirdos End Up With Me?” is also being played on the ISON Network.  Click on the photo to  Listen to "Why Do All The Weirdos End Up With Me?" and see photos from Rebecca Lynn’s photo shoot...

See Your Shadow Songwriting’s work was featured on the Television Show Nashville Onstage. The song featured on the show was the Murray and Coleman collaboration entitled “Take it to Your Grave” and was sung by talented vocalist Hank Lykins. Nashville Onstage is broadcast on the PAX television network Nashville cable channel 28. Click on the picture to learn more about Nashville On Stage.

See Your Shadow Songwriting began the year 2007 with its television division producing the no holds barred game show A. C. E. D. A. C. E. D. which stands for Ask,
Challenge, Embarrass, Drink, made its debut on DATV, Time Warner Cable, Channel 20.  The brainchild of Artistic Director Michael Coleman, A.C.E.D. is the ultimate party drinking game played on television where the viewer gets to see contestants placing themselves in precarious situation while they compete for a cash prize.

2006
See Your Shadow Songwriting
starts its television division.  See Your Shadow Television premiers its pilot project, "Charlie's Pride".  "Charlie's Pride" premiered on DATV in June.  "Charlie's Pride", a show about an all minority country and western band was written by Michael Coleman and features songs from the See Your Shadow country catalog.

2005
See Your Shadow Songwriting
starts its record division.  See Your Shadow Records' premiere single, "A Visit from Him," sung by Michelle Ruben makes its debut on the ISON Live Radio Network.  To date, See Your Shadow Songwriting has had several songs featured on the radio network. The ISON Live Radio Network is based out of Australia.  The songs featured on the network are:

  1. "A Visit from Him" sung by Michelle Rubin
  2. "Two Kiss Notice" sung by Rebecca Lynn
  3. "Hidden Fantasy" sung by Mike Ruth featuring Mark Cullison
  4. "I Never Thought" sung by Mike Hatcher
  5. "Ancient History" sung by Soulmate
  6. "Number C-16"
  7. "Step It Up"

See Your Shadow Songwriting co-wrote and co-produced the CD "Modern Country."  Heralded as the American Songwriters, J. Richard Murray and Michael Coleman traveled to Nashville and worked with Nashville session musicians to bring the 10 song body of work to life.  The CD made its debut at the 11th Annual H.H. Gregg Country Music Expo in Indianapolis.

Also in 2005, selections from the CD "Modern Country" were performed at the 2005 Nashville Songwriter's Festival where the material received a standing ovation.  View the pictures below from the festival.

See Your Shadow Songwriting branched out in 2005 and wrote the original screenplay, "The Tarnished Rainbow."  See Your Shadow Songwriting entered the Alfred Hitchcock style thriller in the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Grant competition.  "The Tarnished Rainbow" became a semi-finalist in the competition and received a perfect score by one of the grant committee judges.

In addition, in 2005, Michael Coleman of See Your Shadow Songwriting became a member of the Country Music Association.

2004
Beating out thousands of artists nationwide, See Your Shadow Songwriting landed a track on the highly anticipated CD entitled, " The Goddess Within."  "The Goddess Within," a benefit CD distributed by the Artists for Change Foundation helped raise money and awareness for victims of domestic violence. The selected track "Four Letter Words," was written by Michael Coleman of See Your Shadow Songwriting and Bobby Sanders from Kansas City.  Being heralded as See Your Shadow's most powerful piece, "Four Letter Words" speaks about the power of the human language.

2003
In 2003, See Your Shadow Songwriting's momentum really picked up.  See Your Shadow Songwriting entered into publishing agreements with Oyster Bay/East Meadow Music and Dixiana Music, who is partnered and affiliated with Red Horse Records in Nashville.  See Your Shadow Songwriting was offered 12 publishing agreements in 2003, a true testament of the talents of Artistic Director, Michael Coleman.

2002
See Your Shadow Songwriting
is launched in August.  The brainchild of Artistic Director Michael Coleman, See Your Shadow Songwriting becomes dedicated to the creation of quality art.

Michael Coleman becomes a member of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) and an uptempo version of his song "Number C-16" appears on a release by Americord Records sung by Ron Avery.

See Your Shadow Songwriting's song entitled, "It's About Me" receives airplay in Alabama and Mississippi and See Your Shadow Songwriting begins work on the CD entitled "One Life" with singer Lisa Fentress.
